AURORA, IL – (November 14, 2025) — Edged US celebrated yesterday the groundbreaking of its second state-of-the-art data center on the Edged Chicago campus in Aurora, Illinois, the second largest city in the state and thriving high-tech hub. Strategically located at 2835 Bilter Road, the new facility will be purpose-built for high-density AI workloads and feature advanced closed-loop, waterless cooling with ultra-efficient energy systems – expected to save more than 277 million gallons of water annually compared to conventional data centers.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Edged operations and construction leaders, along with representatives from its construction partner, FCL Builders, marking a major milestone in expanding next-generation AI infrastructure to support Chicago’s rapidly growing digital economy.

The Edged platform is uniquely optimized for both energy efficiency and water conservation. Its Edged Chicago campus will consume zero water for cooling, ensuring millions of gallons of water saved each year. Outfitted with the ThermalWorks ultra-efficient, waterless cooling system, the facility will be purpose-built to support high-density AI workloads with liquid-to-chip cooling capabilities exceeding 200 kW per rack.
The first facility on the high-tech campus opened in February 2025, and this second facility is scheduled to be operational in Q2 2027.
