AURORA, IL – (June 4, 2026) — Edged US today announced the successful topping out of its second state-of-the-art data center on the Edged Chicago campus in Aurora, Illinois, marking a major construction milestone for the company’s rapidly expanding portfolio of ultra-efficient, AI-ready infrastructure across North America.

Strategically located at 2835 Bilter Road in Aurora, the second largest city in Illinois and a growing technology hub in the Chicagoland region, the facility is purpose-built to support high-density AI training and inference workloads. The data center, which is already fully pre-leased, will deliver 72 MW of critical capacity and feature advanced closed-loop, waterless cooling technology expected to save more than 277 million gallons of water annually compared to conventional data centers.

Edged leaders, project partners, and construction teams gathered onsite this week to celebrate the topping out milestone, which signifies the completion of the building’s structural framework. Construction continues in partnership with FCL Builders, with the facility on track to become operational in Q2 2027.

The Edged Chicago campus is uniquely optimized for both energy efficiency and water conservation. Powered by ThermalWorks’ ultra-efficient cooling systems, the facility operates without consuming water for cooling, helping conserve local water resources while supporting growing digital infrastructure demand.

The first facility on the Edged Chicago campus opened in February 2025. Together, the two facilities form part of the Edged platform’s rapidly expanding North American footprint of sustainable, AI-ready data centers in Atlanta, Columbus, Council Bluffs, Dallas, Des Moines, Kansas City, and Phoenix.
