The Procurement Specialist will be a vital team member of the North American division of Edged Data Centers. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for owning and optimizing our purchasing and vendor management processes. · Subject Matter Expertise: Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Edged's product sets, providing deep technical insight into the full range of interconnection, colocation, and data center solutions.
· Purchase Order Management: Accurately and efficiently process and manage purchase orders, ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
· Supplier Onboarding and Evaluation: Learn to lead and oversee the supplier onboarding process, from initial evaluation and qualification to final approval, working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with compliance standards and procurement policies.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in partnership with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering) to optimize equipment availability across all sites, proactively identifying risks and working to reduce equipment lead times.
· RFQ and Bid Management: Provide critical support during Request for Quotation (RFQ) and leveling processes, ensuring competitive bidding practices, analyzing quotes, and achieving optimal pricing for products and services.
· Supplier Relationship Management: Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop and implement continuous improvement programs, including supplier performance scorecards to monitor and drive improvements in quality, delivery, and pricing.
· Contract Management: Partner with the legal team to manage supplier contracts, ensuring adherence to contract terms and conditions, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, and mitigating potential risks.
· Reporting and Data Analysis: Generate and deliver insightful reports on inventory value, cost control measures, and cost reduction initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making for improved procurement efficiency and cost management.
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
· 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role, with a focus on managing supplier relationships, inventory, and cost control.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools, with the ability to analyze data, generate reports, and inform strategic decisions.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
· A passion for sustainability, with a demonstrated desire to contribute to environmentally friendly initiatives and a greener future in procurement practices.
· Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in processing purchase orders and managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Legal), fostering the adoption of new processes, technologies, and improvements to procurement workflows.
· Analytical and Financial Acumen: Strong analytical, financial, and quantitative skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to inform decision-making. Ability to create compelling business cases that support cost reductions, vendor selection, and procurement strategies.
· ERP Systems Proficiency: Proficiency in NetSuite and other ERP systems, with the ability to effectively manage procurement workflows, track inventory, and generate meaningful reports.
· Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the **Data Centers industry **and its unique procurement challenges, including the management of equipment lead times, supplier relationships, and adherence to performance standards.
